With eco-friendly energy options becoming more and more popular, there is a considerable increase in the use of options such as solar as a household’s preferred way to produce energy. But, no matter how good a system is, there is always going to be faults that arise along the way that needs to be looked at - and the Samil Solar River Inverter is no exception.

Samil Solar Inverter Faults

Grid Fault

If your inverter is showing a ‘grid fault’, you will need to allow the grid supply to stabilise before your inverter can go back to its normal working state. If it doesn’t reconnect, you will need to try a restart following the shut down procedure. If the fault is persistent, you will need to get your solar system checked and inspected.

No Utility

A ‘no utility’ fault suggests that the inverter has lost its connection to the grid. Check and ensure both your AC circuit breaker in the switchboard and also beside the inverter is on. If they are both in the on position, check and ensure you have power to other items in your home and the grid supply is available. If you have checked these and its still not working, you will need to get your solar system checked.

Isolation Fault

For an ‘isolation fault’, you will need a qualified solar electrician to test and check the impedance between PV (+), PV (-) and the ground/earth. This fault suggests that the DC power may be in contact with the earthing of the system, and this can be from water in the panels, isolators or inverter.

Consistent Fault

A ‘consistent fault’ will require a qualified solar electrician to disconnect both the PV +ve and –ve inputs, and reconnect after a short break. If this reset doesn’t fix the issue, the solar inverter may need replacing.

Electrician Repairs

Relay failure

Finally, a ‘relay fault’ will require a qualified solar electrician to disconnect both the PV +ve and –ve inputs, and then reconnect after a short break. If this reset doesn’t fix the issue, the solar inverter may need replacing.
